Premium guidelines bespoke to your brand, built by our team

Simple straightforward process,
consistently inspiring results

Kickoff

Once we’ve cleared the paperwork, we’ll schedule a kickoff meeting with your team to introduce ourselves, get familiar with your existing identity system, and discuss logistics for gathering assets like fonts or logo files.

Creative development

As soon as we receive all necessary creative assets, we’ll get to work on designing your guidelines. We meet you wherever you’re at in the process, so for some this means wire-framing the structure of your content, for others this means a complete first pass of a fully realized site design.

Feedback & revisions

During the creative development process, we’ll meet with your team as much or as little as we need, providing ample opportunity for feedback, revisions, and planning to ensure we’re all on the same page and all stakeholders sign off on the creative.

Complete guidelines site

After any number of rounds of review, we’ll help publish your standards project with whatever security needs you require, and help onboard any core team members who will continue managing day-to-day tasks related to your brand. At the end, you’ll get a premium, optimized, brand site built to last for years to come.

Ongoing support

As we get to know you and your brand, we become partners for the long haul. Standards provides premium dedicated support to all our conversion clients, ensuring a smooth experience for the life of your guidelines. After delivering the converted guidelines, we’ll stay available to train new editors, or build out new sites or sections ourselves for an additional fee.

Common questions

What is the average project timeline?

This can depend on a lot of factors, but a guidelines conversion typically takes 1-3 months all-in. The exact timeframe largely depends on variables specific to your project such as the size of your existing guidelines, how accessible your brand’s assets are, and the time it takes to complete the review process.

How soon can we start?

For existing enterprise customers, we can start on a brand conversion essentially as soon as we agree on scope and brand assets are handed off. For new customers, the time before kickoff will depend on the sales and procurement timeline.

What do I need to prepare beforehand?

At a minimum, we’ll simply need access to basic materials such as your existing brand guidelines, logo assets, font files, and any other assets that are core to your brand such as illustrations, photography, etc. Additionally, we think some of the best standards sites feature high quality motion assets, so having those ready will make your brand shine.

We’ll work closely with you to determine the best methods of accessing these assets, since it can vary from team to team. Finally, some customers choose to take the extra step of providing static design files to express their desired creative intent which can greatly speed up our work as well as the review process, though this is entirely optional.

How many rounds of revision are there?

Our review process revolves around the needs of your team, so we plan for whatever you need to ensure a satisfying result with all stakeholders. For some customers this means weekly check-ins with a small working team leading to a few larger reviews, or it could just be 1-3 core reviews with the whole team. However it goes, we’re confident we can nail it in a time-efficient manner.

Do you offer brand design services?

Our service offering revolves around converting existing brand guidelines to Standards, and does not involve any brand design. That said, we have a vetted listed of partner design agencies who offer excellent brand design services.
