Release notes
Performance enhancements and new sidebar UI
The new year is underway and along with it comes Standards v11.13. This release includes many small enhancements, fixes, and quality of life updates as well as some major backend overhauls to bring you a more refined and reliable experience in Standards. Learn all about the details below.
Performance Enhancements
Collaborative undo / redo
We hope you’ve never experienced the moment while editing with your team where you accidentally delete a meticulously designed section and hit cmd+z only to remember that undo doesn’t work if editing collaboratively. If you do know what that’s like, same. As festive gifts were being shared over the holidays, the Standards team had only one wish, and we’re proud to say it came true; you can now edit with a friend and undo.
Speed Improvements
Put simply, we’ve overhauled the way Standards saves project data while editing. One result is that Standards should run much faster in general when adjusting settings, components, adding new layers, or using automations. Essentially, any action you perform in the Editor should be a bit quicker.
Component Stability
Our Components system has seen one of the most comprehensive refactors since the feature was debuted. We’ve fixed a large handful of bugs related to nested components, component editing, resetting instances, etc. We hope you continue using components with even greater confidence in the new year.
Sidebar updates
Tabbed Pages, Contents, Menu UI
Perhaps the most apparent update in this release is the new design of our left sidebar. We’ve applied tabs to the main sections: Pages, Contents, and Menu to help keep you focused on what you’re actively doing in the sidebar. This enhancement is especially noticeable when editing in larger projects with many pages, comprehensive menus, and lots of layers.
Hidden Pages
One frequently requested feature has been the ability to “hide” certain pages in a project while they’re still in progress, under review, or no longer relevant. Previously, this was possible by manually removing all links to the page in question. Now, we’re glad to announce pages can be easily hidden/unhidden, which will automatically block any link to that page once published.
