Release notes
Sequences, Dropdowns, and new ways to design interactions
Standards v11.12 is live and brings several dynamic new elements, as well as updates to how interactions and behaviors are controlled. New and enhanced features include Sequences, Dropdowns, Menus, Buttons, Toolbar settings, States, and more. We’re excited to share this design focused release, so read on for more information.
New & Refined Elements
Sequence
We’ve added a dynamic new element named ‘Sequence’ which can be used to create a wide variety of slide-based layouts. In addition to the sequence itself, we’ve added three Automations that offer the instant creation of Slideshows, Image Carousels, and Marquees. We think this is the most powerful example of its kind, and we’re excited to see how it’s used.

Dropdown
We’re also introducing a new element called ‘Dropdown’ that can be used anywhere to group elements together with the ability to collapse and expand. Try using these in navigation to group links, provide more options for downloads, or as accordions to organize information.

Button
Our humble Button element has been redesigned to include iconography. Use both text and icon to bring context to your buttons, or hide text altogether and rely on icons to bring nuance and character to your brand. Button states also include more settings, such as Text, that provide greater design control. Lastly, sizing has been updated to include hug and fill for more design and position variation.

Updates to interactions & behavior
Click, Hover, and More
Our in-body Toolbar has seen a complete overhaul to improve how interactions are designed in standards. Language for “Link” has been simplified to “Click” and provides a simpler set of options for quick browsing. Additionally, new contextual settings are available in the Toolbar to control the unique behavior of certain elements.

Editing States
Our interface for editing elements with multiple states has been adjusted to be more consistent, easier to navigate, preview, and design. Additionally, a new state sync feature has been introduced to harmonize design between states.
Menu
Finally, Menus are impacted by the aforementioned updates and have been refined. The most significant change is to our previous Menu Group and Menu Item elements—both are no longer available to add. Instead, Menus will now use Dropdowns and Buttons moving forward.
