Sauz brings a bold new take on a classic condiment. By focusing on premium ingredients and modern flavors, Sauz transforms an everyday pantry staple into a culinary experience that hopes to inspire creativity in kitchens everywhere.
Since launching two years ago, Sauz has grown exponentially, and having outgrown their original brand guidelines, needed a more robust set of brand standards to help add consistency across all touchpoints.
To tackle this, the team at Sauz enlisted the help of NYC-based At Best to audit their brand and work towards a new set of standards that better reflected Sauz’s visual identity and brand voice.
“By using Standards, we were able to set the Sauz team up with guidelines that not only defined all facets of the brand, but were also able to expand as new flavors are added.”
By auditing how the brand was being expressed across the web, social, internally etc., At Best were able to identify opportunities to refine and standardize elements that Sauz already had, and working closely with the Sauz internal team, also created new usage that wasn’t previously defined for key elements.
This resulted in a vibrant brand standards system that captures Sauz’s playful personality. It includes sharp guidance on brand strategy, photography style, type hierarchy, color pairings, and notably provides specific packaging design guidance—a nice touch to ensure every jar looks as good as it tastes.
These guidelines serve as an essential recipe for building the Sauz brand within a competitive marketplace, providing the clarity and consistency needed to squeeze out a distinctive spot on shelves in grocers everywhere.
